Well in the last few weeks I have been redoing my kitchen and living room. I have been having a ball. Don't be afraid to use dark and bold colors on the walls. More to come.

I have found that spray paint works on just about anything. You can make so many things look new. It adheres to many surfaces. I spray painted 3 old lamp shades in gold. Then I went to Wal-Mart and bought this beautiful mauve victorian beading and hot glued it around the rim at the bottom and braiding at the top to match. WOW! It looks like I spent 100 bucks on this antique lamp. You gotta try this if you have old lamps you no longer use.

Well, I am almost finished redecorating my living room. I went with very bold jewel tones. I love it. All that's left to do is get the new carpet and I am buying slip covers for the sofa and love seat. I had considered new furniture, but there are some great covers at www.slipcovers.comThey make them now days to fit very well. I have painted the walls in the LR a burgundy. The old coffee tables, end tables and hutch I painted dark green. I even painted the lamps and put bead work on them. It really is looking good. I got the idea from a victorian decor mag. Everyone is going with rich colors on the walls now, rather than the tired old white-off white. I will link some pics when I'm done. This project has not been expensive at all. It sure is making my house look new again though. ;D
