HOMETOWN HEADLINES GENESEE COUNTY THE FLINT JOURNAL FIRST EDITION Tuesday, April 10, 2007 By George Jaksa gjaksa@flintjournal.com • 810.766.6332 GENESEE COUNTY - Emily Nelson, a home-schooled student from Freeland, has won the Flint Right to Life and Genesee County Black Americans for Life high school speech contest for the second straight year. Emily was among a record 37 students who competed for $1,000 in prize money, also sponsored by Fenton Right to Life. Emily, who won $500, spoke on infanticide. Alexandra Burnash, of Burton, won $300 for a second place finish for a speech on embryonic stem cells. She attends Kearsley High School. Brittany Arnett, of Flint won $200 for her speech on abortion.
